To celebrate the forthcoming release of IRON MAIDEN's new album, "The Final Frontier", and the band's headlining performance at next weekend's Sonisphere festival, the U.K.'s Metal Hammer magazine has collaborated with the legendary British metal group and HD3D originators Hive Associates to bring you one of the coolest front cover images you will ever feast your eyes on.
Commented Metal Hammer editor Alexander Milas: "If you've got a drop of metal in your veins, then you'll know that IRON MAIDEN are nothing short of messianic, so what better way to herald their return to the scene?

It's Official: Anthrax Joins American Carnage!
Posted 7/12/2010 12:12:00 PM
American "Clash of the Titans" lineup — SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX — will hit the road together once again on leg two of the "American Carnage" tour. This trek kicks off September 24 at Verizon Wireless Theatre in Dallas, Texas.
On leg two of "American Carnage", MEGADETH will continue to roar through its landmark 1990 album "Rust in Peace" from front to back, while SLAYER will rip the roof off by performing its much-lauded "Seasons in the Abyss" album, which was also released in 1990. ANTHRAX recently welcomed back singer Joey Belladonna, who defined the band during its heyday, and now permanently back in the band, will be front-and-center.
A special pre-sale will launch this Wednesday, July 14, and fans should log on to Slayer.net, Megadeth.com or Anthrax.com to obtain the special code needed for the pre-sale, and then go to Ticketmaster.com to purchase tickets. The public on-sale will ...
Ozzy Explains Split with Zakk
Posted 7/2/2010 8:39:00 PM
Ozzy Osbourne has revealed he parted ways with longtime guitarist Zakk Wylde because it was becoming more and more difficult to be sober around someone who drank so heavily.
The Black Label Society star has been replaced by Gus G in Ozzy's touring line-up and now the rock legend has explained the real reason behind his decision to end his long professional relationship with Wylde.
Osbourne tells Guitar World magazine
, "Zakk came in at the beginning of the new one (record), but he was still drinking. When you're drunk and somebody else is drinking, it's OK, but when you're sober and somebody's blabbering away in your ear, it ain't. I mean, Zakk's a great player and I love him. I love his playing. But in the end, it came to the point that I had to get another guitarist.
"It was hard for me to be around someone who ...
Nergal Cleared
Posted 7/2/2010 8:32:00 PM
The Gdynia district prosecutor's office recently officially charged BEHEMOTH leader Adam "Nergal" Darski with defamation of religions. The allegation was related to a concert in September 2007, at which the musician tore the Bible.
An update reads:
The District Court for Gdynia has dismissed the investigation against Adam Darski (pseudonym/nickname Nergal) accused of an offence against religious feelings (sec. 196 of polish Criminal Code).
During the preparatory proceedings the defender filled the application, which was entirely accepted by the Court. The defendant’s behaviour wasn’t recognised as a crime.
Moreover the Court acknowledged no causal connection/cause-and-effect relationship between Adam Darski’s behaviour and the consequence in a form of outrage of religious emotions.
