So by now you probably already know about Tim Burton and Johnny Depp's latest project for Disney - Alice in Wonderland. Looking at the previews, it appears to be another magnificent piece of eye candy. The soundtrack to the album, Almost Alice, will be released on 3/2 and features the likes of many young alternative bands like Owl City, Tokio Hotel, Shinedown, and The All-American rejects. Now I can't vouge for this album, but I can tell you how pleased I am to see a founding father of alt music doing a solo track for the LP. The Cure frontman, Robert Smith, contributes with a new song called "Very Good Advice", and it is a strange one. However, strange seems to be a perfect fit for a 3-D Alice in Wonderland film. There is no better matchup I can think of than a Tim Burton/Johnny Depp film and a Robert ...

Black Noise is the newest album from German DJ/Producer Hendrik Weber who is better known as Pantha du Prince. The latest LP also features a couple of special guests – Noah Lennox of Animal Collective sings on the catchy “Stick To My Side” and Tyler Pope of !!! and LCD Soundsystem plays bass on “The Splendour”. So when I heard of a Noah Lennox (aka Panda Bear) and Pantha du Prince colaboration, I knew that it was going to be my catch. You can listen to "Stick To My Side" in the player above. Enjoy!

So Groove Armada have a new album coming out on 3/2, which will see contributions from Flea and Radiohead's Johnny Greenwood. The album, entitled Black Light, shows GA in a different light with much more vocalization and less on the crazy beats. Today's catch features the classy vocals of one Bryan Ferry (from Roxy Music) in a delightful new track called "Shameless". You can hear a clip of the song in the player above. Enjoy! 

 

Check out Hot Chip's live performance when they were the musical guests on Jimmy Fallon's late night talk show. The cool thing about this clip is how Fallon's house band, The Roots, added their own style of funk and percussion to the single "One Life Stand".

 So Peter Gabriel is set to release his 8th studio album since leaving Genesis in the late '70's. Scratch My Back is the new LP which is entirely composed of cover songs from some of the most influential artists in the past 30 years. I'm talking covers of Bowie, Radiohead, Neil Young, and Paul Simon. Today's catch is the dark and moody take of the Arcade Fire's "My Body is a Cage". Gabriel really takes this song to a dark place, especially when the orchestral arrangements explode in the latter half of the song. In my opinion, Peter Gabriel is one of the most creative "artists" in the music industry, and carries with him one of the most beautifully unique voice ever.You can hear a clip of "My Body is a Cage" in the player above.
