Toby's Fakawii Tribe rides were a big success. Check out the photos from the rides along with the post-ride bike wash at Woods Fun Center, courtesy of the Hooters Girls.

Toby Says:

The first thing people always ask me is "Why radio?" Well, let's see... I'm from a small hick town and when I was young, DJs were "cool". Hey, I was young, I didn't know any better. So I decided when I was 12 years old that I wanted to be a "cool" radio DJ. So I spent the next 10 years throwing away my education taking Speech, Theater, and other Radio, Television, Film-related classes. Kids, don't try this at home. I went to college in Brenham, at Blinn College... or Blindergarten as we called it. After about a year of dealing with High School Part Two, I decided to move to Austin in January of '95 to continue my "higher" education and break into the "glamorous" world of radio. Upon graduating from Austin Community College with my prestigious degree in Mass Communications, my job opportunities were vast!

Alas, I decided to stick to my part-time gig here at 101X taking airshifts wherever they would offer. Flash-forward to now, I have worked every shift this station has to offer... swing, overnights, board op, middays, morning show (worst 3 months of my life!), and finally landing in the shift God intended me to work... AFTERNOON DRIVE! I must admit, I do love my job... "like a fat kid loves cake" - 50 Cent. I'm not done yet. What do I see for myself in the future? Two words. World domination. "How Toby? How are you going to take over the world?" you may ask. Well, that's not important right now, just realize that one day I'll be running the show. Embrace the idea like warm death because the day will come. Oh, please believe! Hey kids, SEE YOU IN HELL!

Some things you may not know about me:
Believe it or not, I grew up riding horses and palpating cattle. Don't know what palpating means?... Look it up.
I currently have 5 piercings and 7 tattoos. Ask to see them sometime.
I am capable of playing golf, although it doesn't happen very much.
I am allergic to all forms of exercise.

Here's some music you may not know about but should:

Anything by Ben Harper
Anything by Citizen Cope
Southern Discomfort by Rehab
Anything by Jurassic 5
Anything by Ozomatli

Support local music! These are some of my favorite local bands:

Active Radio
Dirty Wormz
FireKills
Krum Bums
The Real Heroes

I'd like to show you some other of my favorite sites I like to surf... unfortunately, "THE MAN" won't allow me list them on this family-friendly site.

Why on earth did I choose radio?

I love music. I love joking around. I don't like to work. I have no skills. Really...in retrospect I don't think I had any other options... oh yeah!... 2 words, FREE BOOZE!
Is it better to give than receive?
That depends... are we talking in monetary terms? In that case it is definitely better to receive. (who's going to disagree?) But in any other case I'm definitely a giver. I swear!
Where would a faithful listener find me on a Sunday night?
More than likely at one of several bars downtown. I enjoy bars where there is actually a place to sit, The music is not too loud, and the drinks are stiff.
What will you obituary read like?
(My question) Toby Ryan, FINALLY, passed yesterday at age 127 in his Malibu estates from complications involving a colostomy bag and his morphine drip. This, just two days after his 37th marriage to 19 year old Conchita Electra, great granddaughter of Carmen Electra. Toby will not only be remembered as the recipient of the world's first iron liver, but for all of his incredible accomplishments. For winning the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize for his best selling novel "Flatulence IS Fun". Also, for his dedicated volunteer work with Girl Scouts at his secret ranch in Texas. They came as girls and left as women...no matter what the restraining order said. He is survived by approximately 25 children all over the world. He will be missed...by the Jack Daniels Corporation, and some other people... probably... we'll see. He loved monkeys!
