FROM MY BUDS AT RED 7

Posted 9/6/2011 12:00:00 AM
Red 7 Bar and Venue in downtown Austin, TX (google map link) is throwing together a donation drive for the victims of the central Texas wildfires, and we need your help to get the word out around town.  We are working in conjunction with the American Red Cross of Central Texas and Austin Christian Fellowship to get drastically needed supplies out to the people who need it.  Basically, we need people to know that they can bring their donations to Red 7 anytime during business hours (4pm-2am Tuesday through Sunday), where we will have boxes and a donation jar set up inside the bar to accept them.  A list of the types of donations we realistically need is below:

bottled water
sports drinks
non-perishable snacks
canned foods
toiletries
sanitizer
work gloves
heavy duty trash bags
flashlights
batteries
pet food
clothing (esp new socks and undies)
blankets/pillows/sleeping bags
paper plates/cups/napkins/plastic utensils...
