I Need An Inexpensive Beach Vacation

Dear Diary,
 You ever just want to be lazy? You ever feel like sleeping all day? You ever look at that pile of washing and just turn and walk away? You ever just wanna get away? You ever day dream about laying on a white sandy beach under an umbrella drinking a fruity adult beverage bought to you by a nice man wearing a white suit? Well I do. A lot.  Last night I went to the Against Me! slash Silversun Pickups show with my boyfriend and a couple of friends of ours. I guess you could say that I'm not a particularly large fan of either band, but my bf's favourite band in the whole world is Against Me!, so we had to go. He was really excited about the show, as were his friends, who had come in from Arizona to see the bands. I was feeling like the weak link as I didn't really think I was going to have as great a time as everyone else, but I wanted my bf to have fun so I sucked it up. Dear Diary,
 Yesterday was my boyfriend's day off so we decided to tackle some errands and get some stuff done, before we had a nice relaxing dinner. On our list of things to do was to hit up the Van's store in the Domain. My BF needed some new shoes and as you might have heard, I'm a bit of a shopping fan, so I didn't mind going. I've also had a little issue with my iPad this week, so I wanted to visit the Apple store as well. We'd both win! Anyway, as you know, it was damn hot yesterday and we weren't looking forward to walking around. I Consider Myself An Intelligent Person

Dear Diary
I generally like to think of myself as a somewhat intelligent person. You know, I'm somewhat knowledgeable about countries, I use punctuation in the right places and can even navigate the internet pretty well. I also like to think that my friends are clever too. Jason had a 3.3 GPA in college, Cassandra can spell most one syllable animal names and I even know one lawyer! However, I found out this weekend that I've got a Secret Genius Friend. When I say SGF, I mean this person is so clever, so brainy, so educated, that they are probably doing themselves a disservice being friends with me. I don't mean that this SGF knows how to set up their home surround sound without looking at the manual, or that they speak a couple of extra languages, no it's beyond that.  Last night I got to bed nice and early. I really needed a good night's sleep and as my bf is out of town, I decided to take advantage of the quiet house. I had a shower, put some nice relaxing lotion on and slipped into my lovely clean sheets. I decided I'd read rather than put the telly on as I heard once that you shouldn't really watch TV in bed as it stimulates the brain and stops you sleeping. I had some quiet music on in the background and was all set to chill. Our beloved DJ penis guy intern Nick lent me a book a couple of months ago that I hadn't had the time to start so I thought, "what better time than now?"
